Engagement Models

Choose the search model that fits the mandate.

Not every role calls for the same approach. We match the engagement model to the seniority, urgency, sensitivity and scarcity of the position.

Retained Search

A committed, milestone-based engagement for leadership, board, and business-critical roles where depth of research and confidentiality matter most.

Contingent Search

Success-based recruiting for professional and mid-level positions where speed to a qualified shortlist is the priority.

Confidential Search

Discreet replacement or newly created role searches conducted without public exposure of your organization or the incumbent.

Project & Volume Search

Structured hiring support for team builds, new locations, functions being scaled, or multiple parallel requirements.

Talent Mapping & Market Intelligence

Research-led views of where relevant talent sits, how roles are structured, and how competitive your proposition is.

Embedded Search Partnership

Our search discipline operating alongside your internal hiring team for a defined period or hiring program.

How We Search

Research first. Outreach second. Judgment throughout.

Our search process is built on mapping the relevant market rather than recycling a database. That is what separates a search firm from a résumé forwarding service.

  • Role definition, success profile and scorecard alignment
  • Market mapping of relevant organizations and functions
  • Direct, discreet approach to passive candidates
  • Structured evaluation against agreed criteria
  • Calibrated shortlist with written assessment
  • Offer guidance, closing support and onboarding follow-through

Why a Search Firm

When an internal process is not enough.

Some roles cannot be filled by posting and waiting. A search firm exists for the positions where the right person is already employed, not applying, and needs to be found, engaged and persuaded.

  • The best-fit candidates are passive and not on job boards
  • The role is confidential or replaces a current employee
  • The skill set is scarce or geographically concentrated
  • The hire carries outsized commercial or cultural risk
  • Internal teams lack bandwidth for sustained direct outreach

A search is not a list of names. It is a defensible view of the market and a recommendation you can act on.

Search Firm FAQ

Common questions about working with us

What is the difference between retained and contingent search?

Retained search is a committed engagement with staged fees and dedicated research capacity, used for senior or business-critical roles. Contingent search is success-based, typically used for professional and mid-level positions where several sources may run in parallel.

How long does a search take?

Timelines depend on seniority, location, scarcity and interview availability. We agree a target timeline at the briefing stage and report progress against it throughout.

How is confidentiality handled?

Sensitive mandates are approached without naming the client until a candidate is qualified and has agreed to confidentiality. Incumbent-replacement searches are never advertised.

Do you work with candidates as well as employers?

Yes. Alongside search work for employers, SuccessLink provides career development, coaching and advisory services for professionals.

How do we start a search?

Share the role and context through our contact form or email toliah@successlink.site. We will schedule a briefing call to scope the mandate and recommend an engagement model.

Have a Role That Needs a Real Search?

Tell us about the mandate. We will recommend the right engagement model and outline how we would approach the market.
